I was born and raised in west Michigan and belong to a family of artists. I consider myself quite lucky to have a group of people who are all uniquely talented and are always happy to share ideas and critiques. I studied printmaking at Grand Valley State University and earned my BFA in 2015.
I’ve always been inspired by period films, fantasy novels, gloomy weather, and anything played on a fiddle. Even as a child, I yearned to live in a castle or a cottage on the coast of Ireland and speak with faeries and dragons. In terms of style, I find myself nestling between the realism of William-Adolphe Bouguereau, the peculiarity Hieronymus Bosch, and the romantic nature of John Singer Sargent. My hope is that my paintings transport the viewer, even if just for a moment, to another realm— a place that sparks creativity and fosters daydreams.
